Smear Not Fear
Welcome to the introductory page of our original charity collaboration - 'Smear Not Fear'.
'Smear Not Fear' is an organisation, based in Hull, that aims to remove the perceived scary nature and potential intimidation of women attending for their smear tests - a key part of the public health screening programme within the NHS.
Their work involves raising awareness around women who are called for cervical screening realising the importance of the test for the good of their own health, as well as reducing the stigma, worries and concerns that women may have around their smear test.
They also work on lobbying to ensure that NHS services are the best for patients, and ensure that 'fake news' around the smear screening programme is appropriately challenged and the truth realised.
You'll have to forgive their language ('minge' is one of their favourite words...!) but the informal, friendly nature of their work is the key to their success.
Their Facebook and Twitter links are also provided - make sure to follow them on social media (their hashtags are at the bottom of this page)
